Hi, I'm Kathy, artist and photographer behind Fineart-Landscapes.
I am a British fine art photographer with a passion for nature and landscapes, to which I add my unique and creative style.
When I'm not out enjoying and photographing the landscape or travelling I have a career in pharmacy, currently I'm studying towards a professional qualification.
I've always been a dreamer and I'm constantly pushing to better myself in life, I think big, dream big, and work hard at what I do. Passion drives me, as does the fear of failure.
Photography is my way escaping the rush of daily life and taking time to appreciate the natural wonders of the world we live in.
My photography journey started in 1996 when I studied medium format photography as part of my art and design diploma, learning all about film and darkroom printing.
In 2008 I began studying digital photography and purchased my first DSLR. This reignited my passion for taking photos.
Over the years I have explored many genres of photography but I always find myself coming back to my main passion, fine art landscape photography. I have been awarded several commendations in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year (SLPOTY) contest, and also shortlisted in LPOTY. In June 2020 my image 'Scavaig Storm' was one of ten images that won the Living Landscape Prize by the John Muir Trust.
My photography has taken me on many adventures around the British Isles. I've been lucky to see the breathtaking scenery and eyeopening landscape that I have right on my door step here in the UK, and feel blessed that I've had the pleasure of visiting and photographing them.
